DC motor : Converts DC electrical energy into mechanical energy by relying on a DC power supply and using brushes and a commutator to change the current direction in the armature winding for continuous rotation.
AC motor : Transforms AC electrical energy into mechanical energy through the rotating magnetic field generated by alternating current, which can be further categorized into synchronous and asynchronous AC motors. The synchronous one operates stably when the rotor’s pole pairs match those of the stator’s rotating magnetic field and their speeds are equal. The asynchronous one generates torque as the rotor winding cuts the magnetic lines and interacts with the rotating magnetic field to make the rotor rotate.
